The Fairy Tale Park Of Doha Calling

Why I Call the "Aspire Park" of Doha as Fairy Tale Land.

A perfect magical land; enchanting greens; the squirrels and the birds; the duck pond and those quack quacks greeting you with warmth; the green molded hillocks; water springs in vivid forms of fountain and much more.

An exemplary fairy tale park for kids and the adults too. One just cant stop seeing the child in you when you roll down the green hillocks or feed the ducks.

Make your first visit to the Aspire Park or for any other such park in any part of the world and you definitely turn out to be the Alice in Wonderland.

Children need time and space apart from unconditional love. Our cities have conglomerated with endless suburban development, and many of the vacant plots of children have filled up with beautiful sky scrapers. Often fancy malls, plastic play pens and music and fun. What we truly miss is the open air parks which have their best impact on children.

We all fit in best only in our natural habitats. I would always suggest open parks to be considered more often and here is my thumb rule for the same.

  • Parks can be the best recreation.

Neighbourhood greens, and playgrounds are ideal hangouts. An contradiction to this is the new hanging out in the malls which I discourage on frequent basis. Parks have natural potential and component for physical recreation and activities. For any social gathering, picnics, or a place to meet for family with or without kids, parks can be a first choice given weather is suitable.

Activities like running, playing and climbing keeps kids healthy, fit and improves their motor skills and also help in concentrating in their studies. Kids exerting and sleeping early  at nights is an added advantage for the parents! Playing in the open air contributes to healthy lungs than the closed room games. It is safer to pick up play ground or visit to the greens once in a while, in our today's life style.

  • Parks create a sense of community.

Many of us can walk down the memory lane and feel those days we spent at the parks and got to know other kids and friendly adults in our neighbourhood. Outdoor jogging, walks and yoga classes, laughter therapy sessions, are other ways for people to find an ideal rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul. Social tie-ups strengthen here in healthier fashion than on WhattsApp. Trust me.

Aspire park sure meets up the aspirations of residents of this giant sand pit called Qatar.

So what's your favourite thing about your neighbourhood park?

Honey I Am Pregnant

The day I almost fitted back into my old jeans four months after the baby was out, I was as happy as reaching Mars myself.  Only those mothers who have bothered to walk in worst ever cat walk throughout pregnancy, with the baby bump, can relate to my madness.

Few months before it was, when my family was finally frustrated, how terribly I was worried about inflating and inflating to a double XL size, outgrowing my beautiful wardrobe, they consoled me. Come on you have given a good news! In my India there is only and only one meaning to the "good news".  That's when you are going to be "mommy darling".
How I just subscribed into vomiting for 9 months. After a big Diwali clean-work rush, when you decide to iron your laundry and almost faint on the laundry table, all you are told is to rest. The real haunting symptom was yet to come, when you puke and fuss and finally rush to the doctor who doesn't refuse to analyze your waste and declare you are now eligible to …

Those coded cognitive toddler stories; Bubbly gestures; Lively imaginations: Their sparkling eyes, innocent charm; Inquisitive and persistent questionnaire - Children

We are all stories in the end. But those unending stories our children paint in their own words,  fill up the blanks of our life to be some of  the finest chapters. Isn't it?

It was last week, a cloudy evening 7pm. I walked in my backyard with my cranky little son, a toddler. And he had so much to express how the moon had finished dinner too early and slept off (hidden) inside the clouds. How it will pee and we all will get rains! I was astonished and added fuel to fire encouraging him to continue. He then told me the sun and the moon do fight a lot too to reach "his house"! Wildest imagination eh?
Some opportunities hit your door right on time. This time it was BlogAdda which introduced me to the complete activity set to foster creativity in such kids. The "Magical Space Adventure" special pack for …

Death Of A Sexist

Has any of you with sons there, walked into baby stores and picked toys bright pink and purple? How about pink and purple clothing? No? Well, wait till you want to prove the paradigm wrong. I have been doing so. Few years ago, I used to buy gorgeous Barbie and thousands of her accessories for my little girl! Also bought Barbie her boy friend, castles and what not! I thoroughly enjoyed watching my girl spend hours dressing and undressing Barbie and cooking plastic meals for a party. Now, imagine my son doing the same!
Wondering he will soon come back to his senses. He must only be doing his job. Pile up toy cars and trucks, fire few bullets from his toy gun and box me right and left. Well, that's what he is expected to do, right?

Now, If i called it sexism, would you agree with me or not?

On other hand, in our self absorbed sane society we have gender specific roles. Woman has to cook whatsoever happens, and the man is the head of the family. We are assigned rules by our normal soci…
