"So much so about the air tales. Yes, I too did travel Air India Express and am still here tweeting. Tweet Tweet"- was my tweet about a week ago and was also featured on"Blogadda" too.
I jumped on to write this as I read about the Singapore issue of abrupt landing after a hasty take off that left the passengers scattered and shattered.
We experienced the privilege of travelling on board the "Air India Express" IX 819 flying "Mangalore Doha".What an fabulous air-bus. I cannot sustain from penning down the extra ordinary luxurious, fully hospitable journey of four full hours that it was. I cant be any more sarcastic lest I seem offensive for what an journey sirji it was.
Being greeted by pretty looking, smiling ladies was the tradition on airways. One smile did appear at the door. As we ushered past through the walkway and scanned our seat numbers did we get our first punch. One harsh voice in uniform that wanted us to get into our seats no matter we find them or not perhaps!! ahhh.. Pleasant modern staff training maybe. After all one cant show all the teeth, pour sweet wine out of your mouth and twinkle your eyes all through. "Amma , shes so rude" blurted my daughter on her face. Who cares! for " her". She's just another air hostess! I just winked at my daughter. I was content inside at the innocence age that talks the truth straight on the face.
Morning check in at 7, flying at 8.30Am. Usual instructions followed including one not to open dining plates. But please "no no..I wont go in..no i cant" pleased the dining plate. I tried my energy after my daughter. Next turn was my husband's. Finally we all gave up and buzzed for help. A handsome young steward came across, examined our trouble. A scared smile on face and he declared" they are all spoilt it's OK madam. leave it as it is". Gosh, it might save time when food arrives since our tummy was rumbling with hunger anyway.
To add to it the captain had introduced herself. And since then the ordinary tendency of anybody to underestimate a woman's capacity in driving or flying were the talks in air. Fly Air India Express plus lady captain -retorted my dear husband not to make me very happy. After all woman flyer should not be underestimated. ehem I was positive this time. In shah Allah!
It was only an year ago when the same Air lines had hit headlines after the tragedy of the Dubai Air Crash and hardly another year ago that it scared the Pune passengers while the captain was outside the cockpit and the co-pilots adjusting his seat has messed up with the controls.
Repeated & similar incidents only raise one question. Negligence has been a tradition for the Air-Lines?
Basically a subsidiary of Air-India Limited and running in loss of average loss of like 5000 Crore of Rupees every year for past 3 years. A planned low-budget air lines to cater mainly the geographical sector of south east and middle east and later on turned on to be a popular transit hub for the western travelers too. However increasing fuel cost and competition has been a big blow and apparently a reason for the under payed staff to be drifted away from their dedicated duties?
What could be worst I had mused while I traveled on board Air India Express 3 days after the Dubai Air crash with my daughter and she haphazardly reacted to the late landing due to heavy rains and clouds in Mangalore Air Port. "I am sure he will not land but will crash us" she had retorted while another old man next to me was praying with folded hands for long time. [A mention of this in my older post here http://sushmaspage.blogspot.com/2011/03/learning-death.html]. I too had thanked God that I lived another day. Yet another attempt while we made on this Air lines after two years and there I go with this post.
"Thank You God "-Hope he heard me.
Cheers,
Sush

OH MY GOD!
ReplyDeleteI cant imagine my experiences with this airline. I had been shuttling MCT to CLT and back last 2 yrs.
No Airline can beat their records: they keep you waiting for hours together for at the departure terminal, then cancel the flight because the previous schedule of the same flight was indefinitely prolonged of the left wing was smoking during the last flight, once inside the hostess treat you like you entered their private land without permission, sail the air like a transport bus on the worst roads, keep you hungry and deny to serve you anything claiming it's a low cost airline, land somewhere else blaming on the poor climate, deny to let you out because you haven't reached your destination and finally land at your destination but get stuck with a frozen door.
And my mom, she would consider a ship/road journey to her destination but will never ever chose to fly with that airline.
With them the next moment is mere luck and miracle sush!
@Leo pa-agree wid u
